New Life Baptist Church is seeking a qualified pastor sent by God, called to serve the body at New Life and provide guidance and vision to help NLBC continue to reach the lost, minister to our brothers and sisters and most of all love one another.

Senior Pastor Requirements
The senior pastor shall serve as the chief undershepherd and overseer of New Life Baptist Church, feeding, leading and nurturing the sheep. This man’s main responsibilities will be to communicate God’s Word, minister to spiritual needs and provide biblical leadership for the church.

Position May Be Filled By: Church member – Spiritually mature male
Minimum Maturity Level: Stable, mature Christian – A real love for God’s Word

Talents or Abilities Desired: Leadership ability • Good communicator • Experience in teaching and/or preaching • Some training or experience in counseling • Experience in leading others to Christ • Discreet • Prefer D. D. Degree • M. Div. desired by not required

Length of Service Commitment: Indefinite
Anticipated Time Commitments
- Doing ministry/preparing for ministry: Provide for or preside over three services per week - forty hours a week, off on Saturday and one day during week, except for emergencies and special occasions
- Participating in meetings/training: one hour minimum a week
Responsibilities/Duties
- Oversee all church staff.
- Provide leadership and vision for the church. Direct plans for ministry and church growth; develop and fine-tune the church structure based on the Team philosophy of ministry.
- Motivate, equip and nurture the people of the church through example, preaching and teaching God’s Word and spiritual counseling.
- Spend significant time in prayer and Bible study.
- Contact/visit hospitalized or grieving church members – make sure appropriate Deacon is notified
- Officiate at weddings at the Pastor’s discretion
- Officiate at funerals
- Provide premarital counseling, counseling regarding salvation and spiritual issues and other counseling for church members as time permits.
- Perform Communion and baptism.
- Working with the Deacons to oversee church discipline and manage conflict in the church. Seek to reconcile relationships and promote unity within the church.
- Participate in evangelism efforts through preaching and giving invitations during worship services, revival or other special services, visitation and other outreach efforts.
- Conduct annual reviews of all paid staff and provide report to Deacons
